A growing Columbus business is getting city (and possibly state) support to maintain that momentum.
FacilitySource LLC expects to add 272 new full-time jobs as it expands at 200 E. Campus View Blvd. in the Crosswoods area.
Columbus City Council on Monday night approved a four-year incentive package valued at $339,748 to $406,500 for the creation of those new jobs and the retention of 317 employees. New employment is projected to be $13.4 million on top of the $15.9 million in retained employment.
The company, which handles facilities management for a variety of clients, including an expansive list of retailers, is investing $1.54 million in the expansion. That will include building improvements, machinery, equipment, furniture and information technology.
The business occupies 33,000 square feet in its north Columbus office and expects to add an additional 13,562 square feet of space.
The benefit to the city is projected to be between $948,492 and $1.01 million in income tax over that four-year period.
JobsOhio also is expected to offer an incentive. The project could be heard at the July 31 meeting of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.
It is not the first time FacilitySource has been approved for tax incentives, though the company did not act on the previous package it was awarded. The company, in December 2015, was approved for a 0.915 percent, six-year tax credit with an estimated value of $154,000 by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.
A spokesman with the Ohio Development Services Agency said that although the incentive was approved, FacilitySource and the state never came to an agreement, so it was canceled. The company, which has not yet responded to questions about that decision, was proposing to move from its East Campus View offices and add 125 employees to its then-employment of 280.
“Our Columbus expansion will enable us to keep up with the demands of our growing customer base,” CEO Bill Hayden said in a release, which noted the business has grown by 50 percent in the past two years.
According to information from FacilitySource, it has 115 clients and oversees more than 120,000 stores and sites processing more than 4.08 million work orders a year.
Its clients include Columbus-based L Brands Inc. (NYSE:LB) and its brands such as Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works; New Albany-based Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (NYSE:ANF); Target Corp. (NYSE:TGT) out of Minneapolis; and Atlanta-based Home Depot Inc. (NYSE:HD).
